DECR1 (2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase 1, mitochondrial) is a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) superfamily. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 8q21.

Applicazioni

Azioni biochim/fisiol

DECR1 (2,4-dienoyl-CoA reductase 1, mitochondrial) is an auxiliary enzyme for β oxidation. It is needed for the oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids. DECR1 has broad substrate specificity. It is responsible for the conversion of 2,4-dienoyl-CoA to a trans-3-enoyl-CoA.
