[reaction: see text] 6(A),6(D)-Bispyridinio-appended gamma-cyclodextrin effectively enhanced the excimer fluorescence of 2-naphthylacetate. This increase derived from the increase of formation of the 1:2 complex between the cation-charged gamma-cyclodextrin and 2-naphthylacetate by the electrostatic interaction between the host and the guest.

1. 14C-Labelled benzoic acid, salicylic acid and 2-naphthylacetic acid were administered orally to horses, and urinary metabolites investigated by chromatographic and mass spectral techniques. 2. [14C]Benzoic acid (5 mg/kg) was eliminated rapidly in the urine, and quantitatively recovered in 24

A study has been made of the effect of urea upon the hydrolysis of 2-naphthyl acetate (2-NA) catalyzed by lipase from Rhizopus arrhizus in AOT-heptane-water reverse micellar solutions at pH 7. The partition constants, K, of 2-NA between n-heptane and
Two new dinuclear Ru(III) complexes containing naphthalene moieties, K[Ru2(dhpta)(mu-O2CCH2-1-naph)2] (1) and K[Ru2(dhpta)(mu-O2CCH2-2-naph)2] (2) (H5dhpta = 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid, naph-1-CH2CO2H = 1-naphthylacetic acid, naph-2-CH2CO2H = 2-naphthylacetic acid), were synthesized. Complex 2 crystallized as an orthorhombic system having a space group of Pbca
The heat inactivation of esterases in human and rabbit serum was followed at 50 and 55 degrees C by measuring the decrease of activity with paraoxon, phenylacetate and beta-naphthylacetate as substrates. The rate of inactivation measured with the three substrates
