Allgemeine Beschreibung

Nitratreduktase (NAD[P]H) wird in vielfältigen Organismen exprimiert, darunter Bakterien, Pilze, Algen und höhere Pflanzen, die fähig sind, Nitrat als ihre einzige Stickstoffquelle zu verwenden. Experimentelle Studien zeigen, dass Nitratreduktase (NAD[P]H) 180.000 Dalton hat.[1]

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

Nitratreduktase (NAD[P]H) katalysiert die Reduktion von Nitrat zu Nitrit. Zudem katalysiert sie die Reduktion von NADPH-Cytochrom c, FADH2-Nitrat. Nitratreduktase reduziert außerdem die Aktivität von Viologennitrat-Reduktase.[1]
