Allgemeine Beschreibung

May-Grünwald-Giemsa (MGG) stain is a Romanowsky-type, polychromatic stain as those of Giemsa, Leishman and Wright. It is used as reference stain in haematology. It is also used as routine stain in diagnostic cytopathology for the study of air-dried preparations (centrifuged body fluids, lymph node imprints, and fine needle aspirations).[1]

Anwendung

May-Grünwald and Giemsa stain was used for staining polymorphonuclear cells, monocytes and lymphocytes, for differential leukocyte counts, during hematological analysis, in an experimental study conducted to study immune responses in the pathology of acute magnesium deficiency in rats.[2] It was also used to stain cells from bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid, in an experimental investigation, done to study the role of Fas ligand in murine silicosis.[3]

The effects of candesartan and irbesartan, antagonists of the type I angiotensin II receptor, were investigated on allergic asthma. The antigen-induced degranulation was measured by evaluating β-hexosaminidase activity in vitro. Additionally, a murine ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma model was used to
