La tossina del colera e la sua subunità A sono comunemente utilizzate per studiare i meccanismi di trasduzione del segnale grazie al loro impatto sull'adenilato ciclasi. La tossina del colera agisce come adiuvante stimolando le risposte dei linfociti B e delle cellule T helper di tipo 2, inibendo la produzione di interleuchina-12. La subunità B non tossica (CTB) si attacca alle cellule legandosi al ganglioside GM1, il che la rende un utile elemento di marcatura per le cellule microgliali nella ricerca neurologica. Si è inoltre rivelata un eccellente tracciante per gli studi sul trasporto assonale con metodi immunoistochimici.[2][3]

Hey, Can this product be reconstituted to a solution and administered to mice for systemic upregulation of immune cells?

This product has not been tested for use in animal models, however, the preparation does contain sodium azide as a preservative. Azide is reported to have an LD50 of 19 mg/kg in mouse by I.V. route. This is not a sterile preparation, solutions would require filter sterilization prior to in vitro or in vivo use. Please see the link below to review the product datasheet:
