Description générale

The Human CD163 (also known as hemoglobin scavenger receptor) ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human CD163 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine.

Immunogène

Recombinant Human CD163

Application

For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
Human CD163 ELISA kit has been used to measure the levels of CD163 in plasma samples and cell culture supernatants.[1]

Actions biochimiques/physiologiques

Cluster of differentiation 163 (CD163) is a scavenger receptor. It is expressed on the surface of activated macrophages. This protein modulates anti-inflammatory functions and has a role in hemoglobin-haptoglobin clearance. Various cytokines influence the expression of CD163. It may be associated with hepatocellular carcinoma.[2][3]

CD163 is a scavenger receptor expressed on innate immune cell populations which can be shed from the plasma membrane via the metalloprotease ADAM17 to generate a soluble peptide with lympho-inhibitory properties. The purpose of this study was to investigate CD163

Questions

1–2 of 2 Questions
  1. Does the CD163 ELISA test for the soluble domain?

    1 answer
    1. Epitope mapping has not been conducted. The capture and detection antibodies are Monoclonal Mouse IgG1. The immunogen used is mouse myeloma cell line NS0-derived recombinant human CD163 (aa41-1045), with the accession number CAA80543.

      Helpful?

  2. Is it possible to analyze plasma containing EDTA and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) using the RAB0082?

    1 answer
    1. According to the supplier, Ray Biotech, plasma samples containing EDTA are not suitable for use in this assay due to its chelating property, as noted in the kit manual. Additionally, the assay has not been directly tested with cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), so its compatibility with CSF cannot be confirmed.
