Aplicação

The Human Protein Atlas project can be subdivided into three efforts: Human Tissue Atlas, Cancer Atlas, and Human Cell Atlas. Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

Upstream-binding protein 1 is a protein encoded by the UBP1 gene in humans. It plays a role in cholesterol and steroid metabolism through the transcriptional activation of CYP11A, the rate-limiting enzyme in pregnenolone and aldosterone biosynthesis. The genes, along with its functional partners, are components of a network controlling blood pressure. The proteins form dimers and act as transcription factors that activate a number of genes related to cell growth and differentiation.
