Aplicação

Nα-Benzoyl-DL-arginine β-naphthylamide hydrochloride has been used as a substrate in the BANA test to evaluate the inhibitory activity of stefin.[1] It has also been used as a substrate for the determination of Ki values of inhibitors toward trypsin.[2]

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

Nα-Benzoyl-DL-arginine β-naphthylamide hydrochloride (BANA) helps to determine the activities of cathepsin B and papain.[3] BANA test is also useful in identifying the number of periodontal sites with periodontal pathogens.[4] Presence of volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), synthesized by oral bacteria in dental plaque or tongue coating can be colorimetrically confirmed by their ability to hydrolyze N-benzoyl-DL-arginine-2-naphthylamide.[5]
