Azathioprine is a potentially useful antileukaemic drug,[1] with immunosuppressive action, which is administered orally or by I.V route. It is widely used to treat a variety of auto-immune disorders and also has a marked effect on T-lymphocytes and suppresses cell mediated immunity.[2]

Aplicação

Azathioprine may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations[1][2] using ¹H NMR spectroscopy[1] and spectrophotometric techniques.[2]
