Application

γγ-Glu-Cys wird zur Untersuchung der aktiven Stellen und Kinetik von Glutathionsynthase(n) verwendet. Es wurde außerdem zur Extraktion und Quantifizierung von Thiolen aus Arabidopsis-Gewebe mit geringer Molekülmasse eingesetzt.

Biochem/physiol Actions

γγ-L-Glutamyl-L-cystein (γ-Glu-Cys) ist ein Substrat, das für die Biosynthese von L-Glutathion durch Glutathionsynthase(n) eingesetzt wird. γγ-Glu-Cys wird durch die Spaltung der Cys-Gly-Peptidbindung in Glutathion eingesetzt. Es ist essenziell für die Bildung von Phytochelatinen, also Cystein-reichen, Thiol-reaktiven Peptiden.
