Anwendung

Phenylmethanesulfonyl fluoride solution has been used as a component in the cell lysate buffer in breast adenocarcinoma cell line[1], fibrosarcoma cell line[2] and D5 hindbrain and spinal cord neural progenitors.[3]

Administration of PMSF produces analgesia unrelated to its anticholinesterase effect, and prolongs the analagesic effect of centrally administered β-endorphin.[4]
Phenylmethanesulfonyl fluoride (PMSF) is a serine protease inhibitor. It binds covalently to active site residue of proteases and prevents proteolytic activity. PMSF is used in cell lysate buffers during protein purification to prevent target protein degradation.[5] PMSF effectively inhibits the naloxone-precipitated withdrawal jumping.[6]
