General description

Bromocresol Green is a synthetic triphenylmethane dye that is anionic in nature. At pH 3.8-5.4, it changes color from yellow to blue-green, and is therefore, commonly used as a pH indicator.

Application

Bromkresolgrün (BKG) ist ein pH-sensitiver Triphenylmethanfarbstoff, nützlich in einer Vielzahl von kolorimetrischen Nachweistechnologien. BKG wird als Tracking-Farbstoff für die DNA Agarosegelelektrophorese, für Proteinbestimmungen und in Charge-Transfer-Komplexierungs-Prozessen verwendet. In der DC wird BKG zur Visualisierung von Verbindungen mit funktionellen Gruppen, deren pKa unter 5.0 liegt, eingesetzt.
