Rosetta-gami-B-Stämme kombinieren die wichtigsten Eigenschaften von BL21 (und seinem Tuner-Derivat), Origami und Rosetta, um sowohl die Expression eukaryotischer Proteine als auch die Bildung von Disulfidbindungen der Zielproteine im bakteriellen Zytoplasma zu verbessern. Diese Stämme sind mit ampicillin- und spectinomycin-resistenten Vektoren kompatibel.

DE3 weist darauf hin, dass der Wirt ein Lysogen von λDE3 ist und daher eine chromosomale Kopie des T7-RNA-Polymerase-Gens enthält, das durch den lacUV5-Promoter kontrolliert wird. Solche Stämme eignen sich zur Herstellung von Protein aus Zielgenen, die in pET-Vektoren kloniert werden, wobei IPTG als Induktor verwendet wird.

pLysS-Stämme exprimieren T7-Lysozym, das die basale Expression von T7-RNA-Polymerase vor der Induktion weiter unterdrückt, wodurch die pET-Rekombinanten, welche Zielproteine codieren, die das Zellwachstum und die Zellviabilität beeinflussen, stabilisiert werden.

Rosetta-gami-B-Stämme kombinieren die Hauptmerkmale von BL21, Origami und Rosetta, um die Expression von eukaryotischen Proteinen zu verbessern. Die Expression von T7-Lysozym unterdrückt die basale T7-Expression.
