Beschreibung

General description

Ein Anti-Pilz-Antibiotikum, das die Biosynthese von Sterin und Fettsäuren hemmt. Berichten zufolge bindet es bei der Fettsäuresynthese in einem äquimolaren Verhältnis an β-Keto-acyl-ACP-Synthase. Bei der Sterinsynthese hemmt es die Aktivität von HMG-CoA-Synthetase. Es hemmt außerdem die Nahrungsaufnahme und führt zu einem drastischen Gewichtsverlust bei Mäusen.

Ein Anti-Pilz-Antibiotikum, das die Fettsäurenbiosynthese durch Binden an β-Keto-acyl-ACP-Synthase in einem äquimolaren Verhältnis hemmt. Es hemmt auch die Sterinsynthese, indem es die Aktivität von HMG-CoA-Synthetase blockiert. Systemisch und intrazerebroventrikulär reduziert diese Verbindung die Nahrungsaufnahme und leitet einen Gewichtsverlust ein.
