UDP-glucose 6-dehydrogenase (UGDH) transfers UDP-glucose to UDP-glucuronate and thus takes part in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate.[3][2] UGDH is implicated in various cellular processes such as, detoxification, polysaccharide biosynthesis and embryonic development.[4]
