生化/生理作用

变溶菌素是一种N-乙酰胞壁质酶。同溶菌酶一样是一种胞壁水解酶,可切开细菌细胞壁中肽聚糖-多糖聚合物的β-N-乙酰胞壁酸-(1→4)-N-乙酰葡糖胺的连键。其羧基末端部分参与识别和结合独特的细胞壁聚合物。变溶菌素可裂解李斯特菌和其他革兰氏阳性菌,如乳杆菌属和乳球菌属。
