The ubiquitin (Ub) system plays a crucial role in protein homeostasis by maintaining protein balance in pathways related to DNA repair, cell cycle progression, apoptosis (programmed cell death), receptor-mediated endocytosis, and signal transduction. Imbalances or dysfunctions within this system can lead to pathological conditions.[3] Apart from this, disruptions in ubiquitin pathways can also contribute to the development of human diseases, including neurodegenerative conditions and tumors.[4][5]
