Sodium cyclohexanesulfonate was used to study the influence of various hydrophobic ionic excipients on viscosity of concentrated solutions of therapeutic proteins[1]. It was used as an ionic hydrophobic excipient that substantially decrease the viscosity of concentrated (300-400 mg/mL) aqueous solutions of bovine serum albumin and γ-globulin[1].
