Ribosomal RNA processing 1B (RRP1B) is a 52kDa protein mainly located in the nucleolus. It possesses a nucleolar protein of 52kDa (NOP52) homology domain and an RVxF (Arg/Lys-Val/Ile-Xaa-Phe/Trp) motif. The gene encoding RRP1B is localized to human chromosome 21.

Anti-RRP1B antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Ribosomal RNA processing 1B (RRP1B) is a metastasis modifier protein in breast cancer. It interacts with signal-induced proliferation-associated 1(SIPA1) and functions in the reduction of tumor growth. The expression of RRP1B regulates many extra cellular matrix (ECM) genes which are linked with tumor suppression. The protein has an effect on gene expression by regulating histone methylation and heterochromatinization. Along with bromodomain-containing protein 4 (Brd4), RRP1B transduces extracellular mechanistic signals to the nucleus.
