Opis

General description

Piperidine is a heterocyclic amine with a six-membered ring containing five methylene bridges (-CH₂-) and one amine bridge (-NH-). Numerous alkaloids, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and synthetic and biological intermediates contain the piperidine moiety. The commercial applications of piperidine include: solvent for curing agents and epoxy resins. In organic synthesis, it serves as an intermediate.

Application

Piperidine is used:

• As an organic structure-directing agent in the synthesis of titanoborosilicate precursor.
• As stock solution with NMP (1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone) to deprotect the Fmoc group in the preparation of N-methylated cyclic peptides.[1]
