4-甲基伞形酮硫酸酯（4MUS）作为一种通用底物，是4-甲基伞形酮（4MU）的极性代谢物。
应用
4-甲基伞形酮硫酸酯钾盐已用作偶联荧光硫代转移酶测定的底物，以从3′-磷酸腺苷5′-磷酸盐再生3′-磷酸腺苷 5′-磷酸硫酸盐（PAPS），进而测定脑苷脂硫酸转移酶（CST）的酶活性。它还用作芳香基硫酸酯酶测定/4-甲基伞形酮硫酸酯（4-MUS）测定的底物，以测试蛋白磁珠复合体的酶活性。
生化/生理作用
