咖啡酸苯乙酯(CAPE)已用于测定CAPE对甲亢的作用，[1]作为培养基组分检测乳腺癌细胞系MDA-MB-231的细胞毒性，[2]研究其对大鼠胺碘酮诱导肺纤维化的影响。[3]

生化/生理作用

CAPE具有多种特性，如抗癌、免疫调节活性、抗氧化、抗病毒、抗炎、降血糖作用、心脏保护功能以及胃分泌抑制作用。[1]它还对一种乳腺癌肿瘤生长因子——成纤维细胞生长因子2(FGF-2)具有抑制作用。[2]
咖啡酸苯乙酯是核转录因子 NF-κ B的特异性抑制剂。
