Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a saturated cyclic ether with a potential use as a biofuel. Its combustion studies have been reported.[1] Reports suggest it is a better promoter than 1,3 dioxolane for CO₂-hydrate formation.[2] The effect of THF on the biological systems has been studied.[3]

Tetrahydrofuran may be used as a solvent in the following processes:

• RAFT polymerization of p-acetoxystyrene.[5]
• Synthesis of di-tert-butyl-Phosphinoferrocene.[6]
