일반 설명

Cardiolipin is a unique phospholipid present in the inner mitochondrial membrane,[1] which makes up to 20% of total lipids.[2] It is a non-bilayer anionic phospholipid, which has four acyl chains and small headgroup.[3]

애플리케이션

Heart CA has been used as a standard stock solution for its quantitative analysis using liquid chromatography−mass spectrometry (LC-MS)/MS.[4] It has also been used for liposome preparation.[5]

생화학적/생리학적 작용

Cardiolipin is involved in the dynamic organization of membranes and in cell division.[6] It is implicated in proton uptake pathway.[3] Cardiolipin plays a vital role in mitochondrial biogenesis, fusion and fission, respiration and protein import. It regulates cell wall biogenesis, vacuole homeostasis, aging, cell cycle and apoptosis.[7]
