Tested Applications
Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Mitofusin-1 in K562 cell lysate.
Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound Mitofusin-1 peptide with a KD of 2.4 x 10-8 in an affinity binding assay.
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected Mitofusin-1 in Human kidney tissue sections.

Mitofusin-1 (UniProt: Q8IWA4; also known as Fzo homolog, Transmembrane GTPase MFN1) is encoded by the MFN1 gene (Gene ID: 55669) in human. Mitofusin-1 and -2 (Mfn1 and Mfn2) are dynamin-related GTPase homologous proteins that are localized at the outer mitochondrial membrane and are essential for mitochondria fusion. They are thought to fuse adjacent mitochondria via concerted oligomerization and GTP hydrolysis. They also play a role in shaping the endoplasmic reticulum-mitochondria interface. They share about 80% sequence homology and contain homologous functional domains. Mitofusin-1 is a nuclear coded, homodimeric protein that can also form homomultimers and heteromultimers with mitofusin -2. It is ubiquitously distributed, but higher expression is observed in kidney and heart tissue. Mfn1 contains two cytoplasmic domains (aa 1-584; 630-741), two transmembrane domains (aa 585-605; 609-629) and a short mitochondrial intermembrane domain (aa 606-608). Its GTPase region is composed of a central β sheet with three helices on each side. Silencing of MFN1 gene is reported to inhibit mitochondrial fusion and subsequently reduced ATP production. Three isoforms of Mfn1 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
