Biochem/physiol Actions
チミジンのチミンへの可逆的変換を触媒する酵素です。チミジンホスホリラーゼは、ピリミジンヌクレオシドサルベージ経路の一部です。この経路は、ピリミジン塩基をヌクレオチド合成に再利用し、一方、ペントース-1-リン酸は、ペントースリン酸シャントおよび解糖系の中間体に変換されます。E. coli由来のチミジンホスホリラーゼは、ヒトと40%の配列ホモロジーを示し、血管形成剤である血小板由来血管内皮増殖因子と相同であることが分かっています。精製されたE. coli由来酵素は、ニワトリ漿尿膜アッセイにおいて血管形成を刺激することが知られています。
チミジンをチミンとする可逆的変換を触媒する酵素です。チミジンホスホリラ-ゼはピリミジンヌクレオシドサルベ-ジ経路の一部です。
