Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein E1 (hnRNP E1)/poly(rC)-binding protein 1 (PCBP1) has five major isoforms, hnRNP-E1-E4 and hnRNP-E2-KL (a splice variant of hnRNP-E2). It is a member of the PCBP family or the triple K homology (KH) domain containing protein family. All isoforms of hnRNPE contain three repeats of the ribonucleoprotein KH domain, designated KH1, KH2 and KH3. hnRNP-E1 and hnRNP-E2 are predominantly nuclear with specific enrichment of hnRNP-E1 in nuclear speckles. Among the hnRNPE family, hnRNP-E1 and hnRNP-E2 share the highest amino acid sequence similarity. PCBP1 is ubiquitously expressed and is located on human chromosome 2p13.3.

Anti-hnRNP-E1 (C-terminal) (also known as PCBP1/2 and αCP1) specifically recognizes human, mouse, and rat hnRNP-E1.

Anti-hnRNP-E1 (C-terminal) antibody produced in rabbit may be used in immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation.

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) are important in biological activities such as transcription, pre-mRNA processing, mRNA translation and turnover. hnRNPE proteins are also implicated in mRNA stabilization, translation enhancement and translation silencing. Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein E1 (hnRNP E1)/poly(rC)-binding protein 1 (PCBP1) acts as a tumor-suppressive splicing factor. Upregulation of this gene can repress the tumorigenicity of ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, colon cancer and thyroid carcinoma cells.

保管および安定性
For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilutions should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
