Biochem/physiol Actions
ヒト肝臓のカテプシンBは、食道腺癌（EAC）で高度に発現しています。それは、肝臓の炎症と線維形成を軽減し、肝疾患を治療するための潜在的な候補として役立つ可能性があります。
カテプシンBはプロカスパ-ゼ1およびプロカスパ-ゼ11を切断するとともに、ジギトニン透過処理した細胞のアポト-シスを誘導することが確認されています。細胞質カテプシンBの核移行は、ラット肝細胞の胆汁酸塩によるアポト-シス誘導に関与しています。PC12細胞のカテプシンB量はアポト-シス誘導後12~24時間で大幅に減少します。
プロカスパ-ゼ1、プロカスパ-ゼ11を切断するとともに、ジギトニン透過処理した細胞のアポト-シスを誘導することが確認されています。
