This kit is composed of a Quantum® IX Cartridge and a Millipak® 20 Express Final Filter.
The Quantum® IX Polishing Cartridge contains a combination of purification media carefully selected to remove trace contaminants affecting specific applications.
The cartridge is constructed from polypropylene and polyethylene, which are suitable for the production of ultrapure water and are qualified for low organics and ionic extractables.
The Millipak® 0.22 μm hydrophilic membrane filter produces particulate- and bacteria-free water at the point of dispense of the water purification systems.

The kit contains Organex and Ionex resins for the removal of trace levels of organics and ions.

  • Quantum® IX Polishing Cartridge has been designed to remove trace levels of organics and ions from ultrapure water
  • Millipak® 20 Express Filter is designed with a 0.22 μm PES (polyethersulfone) asymmetric membrane. The filter acts as a safe and efficient barrier against particulates and bacteria.
  • The membrane′s conical pores allow a high flow rate at a low differential pressure.
  • The membrane, housing material, and production processes have been selected to minimize organic and inorganic extractable release.
  • The membrane is supported by a rigid plastic disc with channels that ensures high water flow and resistance to pressure variations without the risk of membrane rupture.

    1. Recommended storage conditions: temperatures from 5 to 30°C; humidity between 10 and 80%. The original sealed bag (if provided) must be kept intact before the first use to protect the purification element from foreign matter.

For high-flow systems, please keep in mind that all consumable changes must be approved by a 3-digit code that only the person in charge of the system knows.

  5. Can I arrange to have my consumables automatically ordered and delivered once a year?

It's possible to place only one consumable order per year with a specific contract called "Consumable Supply Agreement (CSA)" (https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/US/en/products/water-purification/milli-q-consumables#csa).   6. Can consumables be opened and refilled?

    1. Unfortunately, this is not possible because of safety issues and the need to guarantee the quality of consumables and their interior purification components. Our consumables are manufactured in an ISO 9001-certified facility France in agreement with high quality standards.

  7. If I have a final filter that I use only occasionally (e.g., Biopak®) and have another filter (e.g. Millipak®) that I most of the time, can I keep the 'occasional-use' filter for use again at a later time?

    1. It is not possible to re-use a filter that has been used and then removed because air intake during replacement creates an airlock and blocks water passing through the filter. If you regularly need two different filters, we recommend using two POD dispensers.

  9. How frequently do the various consumables need to be changed?

    1. The frequency that consumables must be changed depends on the system's usage (treated water volume) and on the consumables themselves (time of usage). In order to ensure the quality of water and your results, the consumables should be replaced when the system alerts you.
