Mitogen-inducible gene 2 protein, Pleckstrin homology domain-containing family C member 1, fermitin family homolog 2, kindlin 2, mitogen inducible gene 2 protein
The Kindlin family is a group of focal adhesion proteins that have become a point of interest because of their ability to bind and activate integrins. Abnormalities in this ability have linked Kindlin to several diseases, both inherited and acquired, such as Kindler syndrome, cancer, and leukocyte adhesion deficiency. The isoform Kindlin-2 specifically participates in the recruitment of migfilin protein to focal adhesion sites for cell-ECM interactions, coordinates the manufacture of actin and modifications to cell shape. It is also actively involved in connecting ECM adhesion sites and the actin cytoskeleton (Shi, 2007). Kindlin-2 is pervasively expressed throughout tissue.

Kindlin-2, as an integrin-interacting protein, was known to be required for the maintenance of cardiac structure and function in zebrafish. However, the mechanism remains unclear. We found that Kindlin-2 interacts and colocalizes with α-actinin-2 at the Z-disc of mouse cardiac
Kindlin-2 regulates integrin-mediated cell adhesion to and migration on the extracellular matrix. Our recent studies demonstrate important roles of kindlin-2 in regulation of mesenchymal stem cell differentiation and skeletal development. In this study, we generated adipose tissue-specific conditional knockout of

Kindlin-2 is a member of the focal adhesion protein family that regulates invasion and metastasis in multiple malignancies; however, little is known about the role of Kindlin-2 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression. Immunohistochemistry was used to investigate Kindlin-2 expression in

Kindlin-2 plays an important role in the regulation of cardiac structure and function. Depletion of Kindlin-2 contributes to cardiac hypertrophy and progressive heart failure, however, the precise mechanisms involved in this process remain unclear. GATA4 is a critical transcription factor
Interplay between tumor cells and host cells in the tumor microenvironment dictates the development of all cancers. In breast cancer, malignant cells educate host macrophages to adopt a protumorigenic phenotype. In this study, we show how the integrin-regulatory protein kindlin-2
