N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl) phosphoethanolamine (NBD PE) is a fluorescent probe which contains NBD, a fluorophore, attached to the headgroup of phosphatidylethanolamine[1] mostly present in brain.[2] It Phosphoethanolamine is the second most abundant, metabolically related aminophospholipid,[2] localized at the membrane interface.[3]
