Dihydropyridine calcium channel, a1 subunit as determined by Western blot (~210 kDa), immunoprecipitation and functional test. Membrane preparations are recommended. The mouse muscle cell line, BC3H1 functions as a good positive control cell line. Reactive with L-type calcium channel alpha1 subunit. Specific for small cell carcinoma and neuroblastoma by FACS analysis. No interaction with squamous cell carcinoma or with cardiac calcium chanel isoforms.

Caveolae, flask-shaped invaginations of the plasma membrane, are particularly abundant in muscle cells. We have recently cloned a muscle-specific caveolin, termed caveolin-3, which is expressed in differentiated muscle cells. Specific antibodies to caveolin-3 were generated and used to characterize the
Vertebrate photoreceptors consist of strictly delimited subcellular domains: the outer segment, ellipsoid, cell body and synaptic terminal, each hosting crucial cellular functions, including phototransduction, oxidative metabolism, gene expression and transmitter release. We used optical imaging to explore the spatiotemporal dynamics
Cacna1s encodes the α1S subunit (Cav1.1) of voltage-dependent calcium channels, and is required for normal skeletal and cardiac muscle function, where it couples with the ryanodine receptor to regulate muscle contraction. Recently CACNA1S was reported to be expressed on the

Quantitative and qualitative evaluation of synapses is crucial to understand neural connectivity. This is particularly relevant now, in view of the recent advances in regenerative biology and medicine. There is an urgent need to evaluate synapses to access the extent
Localization of Cacna1s to ON bipolar dendritic tips requires mGluR6-related cascade elements.
