Descrizione generale

Epithelial cell-transforming sequence 2 oncogene (ECT2) is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor or GEF that belongs to the Dbl family of Rho GEFs. ECT2 is composed of 2 BRCT domains within the N-terminus, a DBL-homology domain, and a PH domain. Studies have shown ECT2 to localize to both the cell cortex and central spindles, and that it is a crucial part of cleavage furrow formation during cytokenises. Overexpression of cleaved ECT2, containing only the N-terminal domain, has been shown to cause multinucleation. As a GEF it has been shown to bind specifically to Rac proteins, RhoA, and RhoC.

Specificità

This antibody recognizes ECT2 at the
C-terminus.

Immunogeno

Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human ECT2 at the C-terminus.

Applicazioni

Anti-ECT2 Antibody is an antibody against ECT2 for use in WB & IC.

The regulation of Rho-family GTPases is crucial to direct the formation of cell-cell junctions and tissue barriers. Cingulin (CGN) and paracingulin (CGNL1) control RhoA activation in epithelial cells by interacting with RhoA guanidine exchange factors. CGNL1 depletion also inhibits Rac1
