L′acido acrilico può essere usato anche come:
- Componente chiave nella preparazione di un legante copolimerico che serve ad ottimizzare le prestazioni delle batterie agli ioni di litio.[4]
- Modificatore di superficie per nanotubi di carbonio con acido poliacrilico con lo scopo di migliorare l′adesione e la dispersione dei nanotubi in una matrice di ossido semiconduttore per applicazioni nei transistor a film sottile.[5]
- Monomero reattivo per la modificazione superficiale del polidimetilsilossano (PDMS) mediante un processo di polimerizzazione simultanea con etilenglicole dimetilacrilato. Il PDMS così modificato potrebbe trovare applicazione in nuovi campi quali la microfluidica o i dispositivi biomedicali.[6]
- Precursore per la sintesi di nanoparticelle di gomma di anacardio/acido acrilico via processo di copolimerizzazione. Il ruolo dell′acido acrilico nella sintesi è quello di introdurre gruppi funzionali idrofili nello scheletro della gomma di anacardio, migliorandone così l′idrosolubilità e, di conseguenza, la sua compatibilità con altri materiali idrofobi.[7]

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. According to our supplier the viscosity is 1.232 cP at 25 C. However, we do not test the viscosity since it is not one of our specifications.

According to literature the freezing point is 13 C. If freezing occurs do not remove the acrylic acid from a partially-thawed bottle. The remaining material would be seriously under-inhibited.
