Zinc finger CCHC-type containing 8 (ZCCHC8) is a nuclear protein, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 12q24.31. The encoded protein contains a zinc-knuckle domain and a proline-rich region.

Aplicación

Acciones bioquímicas o fisiológicas

Zinc finger CCHC-type containing 8 (ZCCHC8) acts as a substrate for glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK3) and plays a vital role in RNA metabolism. ZCCHC8 expression is elevated in neuroblastoma patients. ZCCHC8 along with hMTR4 (an ATP-dependent RNA helicase) and the RNA-binding motif protein-7 (RBM7) forms a trimeric human nuclear exosome targeting (NEXT) complex, which stimulates exosomal degradation of non-coding RNAs.
