General description

IgG is one of the most abundant protein in human serum. IgG is important for our defence against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B-lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions; to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 1011 variants.

Specificity

Reacts with with the heavy chain of human IgG. Absorbed for human IgM, IgD and IgA.

The antibody reacts with the heavy chain of human IgG as demonstrated by ELISA and flow cytometry.

Epitope: IgG γ chain

Prepared from IgG γ chain. Pooled antisera from goats hyperimmunized with normal human IgG and human IgG paraproteins.

Application

Detect Human IgG γ chain using this Goat anti-Human IgG γ chain Antibody, Alkaline Phosphatase conjugate, Species Adsorbed validated for use in ELISA.

ELISA: 1:2,000-1:4,000.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.

Affinity Chromatography

Purified by affinity chromatography on pooled human IgG covalently linked to agarose. Liquid in 50mM Tris/1mM MgCl₂/50% Glycerol, pH 8.0, containing 0.1% NaN₃ as preservative.

Storage and Stability

Maintain refrigerated at 2°-8°C under sterile conditions for up to twelve months from date of receipt. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
