Applicazioni

Silica nanoparticles play a crucial role in biotechnology including bone engineering[1] and drug delivery[2]. The amino functionality present on the surface of these materials provides a synthetic handle for further modification and conjugation to target moieties[3]. Amino functionalized silica particles can be used for applicaitons including in vivo gene delivery[4]; nanocomposite formation[5], and formation of biofilms[6].
