Allgemeine Beschreibung

INCENP or inner centromere protein antigens 135/155kDa is a constitutively binding centromere proteins and ′passenger,′ or transiently interacting, proteins. The overexpression of a truncation mutant of chicken INCENP and a chimeric CENPB:INCENP protein in mammalian cell culture disrupted both prometaphase chromosome alignment and completion of cytokinesis. INCENP forms a complex with the evolutionarily conserved family of Aurora B kinases which helps coordinate chromosome segregation, spindle behavior, and cytokinesis during mitosis.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

As part of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), inner centromere protein (INCENP) has a role in assembly and stability of the complex. It also aids in the centromere localization of CPC. INCENP has a role in mitosis and associates with microtubules. The protein has been shown to be upregulated in colorectal cancer cell lines.[1][2][3]

Supplied in 50 mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.0, 300 mM NaCl, 150 mM imidazole, 0.1 mM PMSF, 0.2 mM DTT, 25% glycerol.
