Allgemeine Beschreibung

FER (fps/fes related) tyrosine kinase is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 5q21.3.[1] Tyrosine kinase is a cytoplasmic protein characterized with a single SH2 domain and an extensive amino terminus. The encoded protein is ubiquitously expressed.[2]
The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes Human Tyrosine-Phosphorylated-FER.

Biochem./physiol. Wirkung

FER tyrosine kinase induces signal transduction at the plasma membrane.[3] It is implicated in the regulation of cell-cell adhesion.[4] FER tyrosine kinase interacts with phosphatidic acid (PA) to enhance phosphorylation of cortactin, a protein that promotes actin.[5]
