Allgemeine Beschreibung

Titanium(IV) oxide, mixture of rutile and anatase (TiO2) nanopowder is a photocatalytic material with anatase and rutile as the crystalline phases. The two minerals are utilized in photocatalysis due to their efficient charge separation across phase junctions.[1][2]

Anwendung

Photoelectrodes of varying properties can be made using colloidal suspensions of titanium(IV) oxide nanoparticles.[3]
TiO2 can be used in a variety of medical implants, such as dental implants, spinal fixations, and joint replacements.[4] It can also be used in a stable colloidal solution for the formation of RPMI cell culture medium.[5] It forms a conductive layer in the fabrication of dye sensitized solar cells.[6]

Questions

1–6 of 6 Questions
  1. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1 answer
    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf

  3. Would like to know the surface area of the nanoparticle?

    1 answer
    1. The surface area for this product is not determined.

      Helpful?

  4. I would like to know if you have the size distribution for these nanoparticles available. And if you have microscopy images. Thanks

    1 answer
    1. The particle size distribution of this material is not tested on a lot-to-lot basis. However, historical data indicates a typical range of 25 - 65 nm with a maximum particle size of 100 nm. Unfortunately, images are not available.

  5. is it soluble ?

    1 answer
    1. This product is not soluble in water. Historical data indicates that this material is soluble in hot, concentrated sulfuric acid or hydrofluoric acid. Note that product 700347 is a 40% dispersion of this compound in water. Please see the link below to review this product option:

  6. Percentage of rutile and anatase in this mixedphase please?

    1 answer
    1. The ratio of rutile to anatase is approximately 55 parts rutile to 100 parts anatase or approximately 35% rutile and 65% anatase.
