Allgemeine Beschreibung

1-Iodo-3,4-dimethylbenzene (4-iodo-o-xylene, 3,4-dimethyliodobenzene) is an aryl halide. Its synthesis, NMR and IR spectra has been reported.[1] Its nitration reaction[2] and copper catalyzed trifluoromethylation reaction has been studied.[3]

Anwendung

1-Iodo-3,4-dimethylbenzene (4-iodo-o-xylene, 3,4-dimethyliodobenzene) may be used in the synthesis of the following:
  • 3-arylacrylamide[4]
  • 3,3-diaryl substituted acrylamide[4]
  • 3-arylpropylamine[4]
  • di-tert-butyl 1-(3,4-dimethylphenyl)hydrazine-1,2-dicarboxylate[5]
  • 2,3,7,8-tetramethyldibenzofuran[6]
  • N-(3-(3,4-Dimethylphenyl)-2-phthalimidopropionyl)-2-methylthioaniline[7]
