Allgemeine Beschreibung
• Geeignet für Anwendungen, bei denen der Stabilisator oder Inhibitor (Hydrochinon (HQ), Hydrochinon-Monomethylether (MEHQ, 4-Methoxyphenol) oder 4-tert-Butylcatechol (TBC)) vor der Verwendung entfernt werden muss.
• Verbrauchte Säulen können entsorgt1 oder wiederverwendet werden, indem die Säule zu ca. 3/4 mit neuem Packungsmaterial gefüllt wird. Nachfüllvolumen für HQ/MEHQ-Säulen: ~21 g Nachfüllvolumen für TBC-Säulen:~30 g.
• Säulenkapazität (ca.):
HQ/MEHQ: 3 l bei 100 ppm
TBC: 4 l bei 15 ppm
• Die Verwendung von TBC-Säulen und -Packungen mit polaren Lösungsmitteln, einschließlich Acrylsäure, wird nicht empfohlen. Für derartige Anwendungen sollte die Vakuumdestillation verwendet werden.
Einfache Anwendung:
1. Es wird empfohlen, die vorverpackten Glassäulen mit einer geringen Menge Monomer vorzuwaschen.
2. Geben Sie das Monomer (oder Lösungsmittel) in einen Zugabetrichter, der über der Säule befestigt wird.
3. Geben Sie das Monomer tröpfchenweise in die Säule. Beobachten Sie die zugeführte Menge, um ein Überlaufen der Säule zu vermeiden. Fangen Sie das Monomer in einem geeigneten Behälter auf.
4. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Säulentemperatur bei Feststoff-Monomeren mit niedrigem Schmelzpunkt während der Verwendung über dem Schmelzpunkt liegt.
Achtung: Eine Überhitzung kann zu einer Polymerisierung an der Säule führen. Viskose Monomere oder Monomere mit hohem Schmelzpunkt können vor der Säulenzugabe in einem geeigneten Lösungsmittel verdünnt werden.
1Nicht verbrauchte Säulen können zusammen mit anderen chemischen Feststoffabfällen entsorgt werden. Nach der Verwendung müssen die Toxizität und andere mit dem Monomer, von dem der Inhibitor entfernt wurde, verbundenen Gefahren bei Entscheidungen hinsichtlich der Entsorgung des Packungsmaterials und der Säule berücksichtigt werden.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. Would these work for removal of Topanol A, 2,4-Dimethyl-6-tert-butylphenol CAS Number:1879-09-0?

This product is not tested for removal of Topanol A, but is expected to be suitable. The product is used for inhibitor removal for product 276685. Methacrylic anhydride, which contains 2,000 ppm Topanol A as inhibitor.

Which side of the column is the top versus the bottom?

The label is placed at the top of the column and will include the lot number. The column is provided with a cap on each end; these caps would need to be removed when the column is in use, but replaced between uses.
The glass wool plugs are present to hold the beads inside the column. Initially, a small volume of liquid will wet the glass wool. As more volume is added, the column will become saturated and then eventually pass through and out at the bottom of the column.

Can Product 306312, Inhibitor removers - Prepacked column for removing hydroquinone and monomethyl ether hydroquinone, be used to remove butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT)?

This inhibitor remover is not intended to remove BHT present in a monomer solution; little, if any, BHT will be removed with this column. Unfortunately, Sigma-Aldrich does not currently offer a inhibitor-remover column that will accomplish this purpose.

This pre-packed inhibitor remover column is meant for single use but can be rinsed and reused. If time will pass between uses, this column can be rinsed with methanol, dried, capped on both ends, and stored in a tightly sealed plastic bag in the freezer at -20°C.
