Description générale

This Certified Reference Material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO 17034 and ISO/IEC 17025. All information regarding the use of this CRM can be found on the certificate of analysis.

Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards.

Doxorubicin Hydrochloride is an anthracycline antibiotic, known for its broad range anti-cancer activities.

Application

This pharmaceutical secondary standard can also be used as follows:
  • Development of a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method combined with UV detection to determine doxorubicin hydrochloride in plasma samples[1]
  • Electrochemical determination of doxorubicin by spinel-structured cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) modified carbon paste electrode in biological fluid and injection samples[2]
  • Determination of doxorubicin hydrochloride in human plasma samples using a graphene quantum dots (GQDs) based electrochemical sensor
  • RP-HPLC method-based quantitative analysis of doxorubicin hydrochloride in vacuum foam dried formulations[3]
  • Voltammetric determination of doxorubicin hydrochloride and dastinib using zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticle/1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetra-fluoroborate modified carbon paste electrode (ZnO-NPs/BMTFB/CPE) in their combined injection samples[4]

Remarque sur l'analyse

These secondary standards offer multi-traceability to the USP, EP and BP primary standards, where they are available.

Questions

  1. How should the doxorubicin be dissolved? I have seen DMSO, but what is the optimal solution to dilute the DMSO and at what percentage?

    1 answer
    1. This product is not tested for solubility. However, information available for other Doxorubicin HCl products will apply.
D1515, Doxorubicin HCl, is soluble in water and pure DMSO at 50 mg/ml.
Solutions are sensitive to light and will degrade over long-term exposure.

D5225, Doxorubicin, Ready-Made solution is a 2mg/ml solution in pure DMSO.
The product is stored at 20°C and is assigned a retest schedule of every 2 years.

Solutions appear to be reasonably stable when protected from light.
