Description générale

Accurate preparation of a quantitative reference is highly critical for accurate assessment of patient Vitamin D levels. This Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable for critical quantitative applications in research and clinical environments including: for use in preparation of controls and calibrators for LC/UV and LC-MS/MS Vitamin D assays; as system tuning/suitability standards; linearity verification; internal proficiency testing; and for OEM use in preparation of reagents, development of assays and instrument IQ/OQ. The stable, quantitative solution format provides significant benefits to the user including material savings, increased efficiency of labor, and convenience of use. The shelf stable Snap-N-Spike® format allows laboratories to eliminate painstaking weighing operations and provides the ability to spike a known concentration of analyte into their matrix of choice just before use.

Vitamin D has diverse biological actions, and consequently the mechanisms behind how it regulates gene transcription are diverse. Unlike its well described positive effects on gene transcription, little is known about how vitamin D induces transcriptional repression. Vitamin D-induced transcriptional

Calcitroic acid (1 alpha-hydroxy-23 carboxy-24,25,26,27-tetranorvitamin D(3)) is known to be the major water-soluble metabolite produced during the deactivation of 1 alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3). This deactivation process involves a series of oxidation reactions at C(24) and C(23) leading to side-chain cleavage and

Although calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol) and vitamin D(2) inhibit retinoblastoma growth in the athymic (nude) mouse xenograft (Y-79 cell line) model of retinoblastoma, they can cause severe toxicity. 1α,25-dihydroxy vitamin D [1,25(OH)(2)D] is the active metabolite of vitamin D. Antibody-based detection methods lack specificity, but when combined with isotope dilution/ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC)-tandem mass spectrometry, immunoextraction provides an attractive method for 1,25(OH)(2)D. We developed a method for simultaneous
