Informações sobre genes

human ... NR3C1(2908)

Descrição geral

Glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene/NR3C1 (nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 1) is located on human chromosome 5q31. It belongs to the steroid receptor superfamily that consists of ligand-activated nuclear transcription factors.

Imunogênio

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GR.

Immunogen Range: 181-230

Aplicação

Anti-GR antibody has been used in western blotting.

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

The glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene/(NR3C1) is associated with asthma. It is required for glucose homeostasis, hyperinsulinemia and increased fat deposition. It also regulates cell differentiation, nervous and immune system functions.

Despite unprecedented responses of some cancers to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies, the application of checkpoint inhibitors in pancreatic cancer has been unsuccessful. Glucocorticoids and glucocorticoid receptor (GR) signaling are long thought to suppress immunity by acting on immune cells.
