Informações sobre genes

human ... HMGA2(8091)

Descrição geral

High mobility group A2 (HMGA2) protein is a non-histone architectural transcription factor.[1] This protein belongs to the high-mobility group adenine/thymine (AT)-hook (HMGA) family.[2] HMGA2 is expressed in the mesenchyme prior differentiation and tumors of epithelial origin.[3] The HMGA2 gene is located on the human chromosome at 12q14.3.[4]

Imunogênio

Recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 109 of HMGA2 (Uniprot ID#P52926)

Aplicação

Anti-HMGA2 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry (1:250)[5], (1:100)[6], (1:4000)[7].

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

High mobility group A2 (HMGA2) protein is involved in regulating the activity of various genes by binding to the adenine/thymine (AT)-rich sequences present in the minor groove of B‑form DNA. This protein plays a role in many biological processes such as the DNA damage repair process, senescence, apoptosis, and cell cycle process. HMGA2 protein also plays a role in epithelial-mesenchymal transition and telomere restoration.[1] Overexpression of HMG2A gene is observed in metastatic lung adenocarcinoma.[8]
