This analytical standard was used as follows:
  • Determination of L- and D-amino acids and glycine by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) following their derivatization with chiral Marfey’s reagent
  • High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) based amino acid analysis during the characterization of defatted rice bran (DRB) protein concentrate to evaluate its iron binding ability
  • Development of a gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) procedure for the profiling of 112 amino-carboxylic metabolites in human urine samples using 1,1,1,2,2,3,3-heptafluorobutyl chloroformate for derivatization and liquid-liquid microextraction for sample treatment
  • Non-enantiomeric detection and quantification of amino acids in their various forms— free, dissolved, particulate, and total, in natural water samples by HPLC coupled with fluorescence detection using a C18 column

    1. No method is available to identify each of the peaks for this product. Contact the regional Technical Service group for assistance with identifying chromatographic peaks according to specific analytical techniques.

  2. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.   3. How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?

    1. If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
      For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
      For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

  4. What is the difference between AAS18 and 79248 (CRM)? What are the storage and shipping conditions? How does the quality of AAS18 compare to CRM?

    1. AAS18 is stored at 2-8°C, while 79248 is stored at -20°C. Both are shipped at ambient temperature. Amino Acid 79248 is a CRM, Certified Reference Material, and AAS18 is a standard. AAS18 does not undergo the rigorous testing that is used for CRM standards.
