PI(3,5)P2 (1-oleoyl-2-{6-[4-(dipyrrometheneboron difluoride)butanoyl]amino}hexanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoinositol-3,5-bisphosphate) is an endosomal lipid. It is produced by Fab1 phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate 5-kinase from phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. This synthesis occurs in the lysosomal membranes.[1]

Ações bioquímicas/fisiológicas

Phosphatidylinositol phosphate lipids are associated with serval cell signalling pathways. It participates in the transport of peripheral membrane proteins along the plasma membrane.[2] PI(3,5)P2 is essential for endosome maturation.[3]
