Descrição geral

Gold nanoparticles have unique properties like biocompatibility, non-cytotoxicity, good optical and electronic properties. They are widely in targeted drug delivery, bioassays and polymer-based sensors.[1] Gold nanorods exhibits a longitudinal plasmon resonance in the wavelength range of 650-1100 nm which makes it very attractive for optical imaging in tissue since light in this wavelength range can penetrate deep into the tissue due to low absorption and scattering.[2]
