Biochem/physiol Actions

Wirkungsweise: Hemmt Bakterienzellwand-Synthese.

Cefotaxim hemmt die bakterielle Zellwand-Synthese durch Bindung an Penicillin-bindende Proteine ??(PBP), wodurch der letzte Transpeptidierungsschritt der Peptidoglycansynthese in bakteriellen Zellwänden gehemmt wird. Folge davon ist die Lyse von Bakterien durch autolytische Enzyme.
